Insurance coverage may be available if you are suffering from hair loss due to medical conditions. To find out if you have this coverage ask your insurance provider if you have coverage for “Cranial Hair Prosthesis”. Many clients suffering from Alopecia or are undergoing cancer related treatments may be eligible under their health insurance coverage. If you have this type of coverage your insurance company will direct you on the steps you will need to take to get reimbursed for your lace wig.
If your insurance policy does not provide this coverage you may be able to get help through the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF). Visit www.naaf.org to see if you qualify for a grant to cover a percentage or full purchase price of the wig. You can reach NAAF by calling 415-472-3780.
Another option available for those wearing full lace wigs because of cancer related illness is to seek assistance from the American Cancer Society. You can apply for an allotment through the ACS prior to making your wig purchase. To find out more visit www.cancer.org or call 800-227-2345. Please note you will have to submit your order and pay A NEW YOU directly and then seek reimbursement from your insurance or grant provider. We will supply any necessary paperwork as required.
